Angle globe valve opening height calculation
During the globe valve designing and application，is the opening height of the valve related to which parameters？The following are some calculation:
When the valve is opened, the area of circulation should be calculated by opening the height of the curtain area, when the opening height of the curtain area is equal to the valve channel area, which is the disc opening height ,When the opening height reaches 25% ~ 30% of the flow diameter, the flow rate has reached the maximum, indicating that the valve has reached the full open position.So the opening height of the globe valve should also be determined by the stroke of the disc.
  
D：diameter of seat hole
H：height of disc open
Flow area S1=3.14*D^2/4
curtain area S2=3.14*D*H
S1=S2
3.14*D^2/4=3.14*D*H
Then , H=D/4
The above calculation are used in globe valves, slurry valves, tank bottom valve.
