The advantage of the valve matching up pneumatic actuator is that the opening and closing speed is faster, especially when the torque is small, it can also be opened and closed within 0.5s.
Pneumatic actuators will not cause pollution to the environment even if it leak air, their environmental suitability is higher and will not unaffected in harsh environments such as flammable, explosive, strong magnetic and strong radiation. The pneumatic actuator resets the valve to a preset safe position in the event of a power failure(oil source loss or signal loss), so that the valve system will be protected.Because of the low pressure of the gas source, the pneumatic actuator is larger than the hydraulic or electric actuator, at the same time ,the compressibility of the air leads to the poor stability of the action of the pneumatic actuator.
1.Type and application
Pneumatic actuator can be divided into gear rack type and fork type according to the transmission mode,and it can be divided into single-acting and double-acting according to the gas source action mode,.The single-acting mode is divided into air to open type and air to close type. According to the pneumatic principle type can be divided into regulating type and on/off type, on/off type can be divided into ordinary type and fast on -off type.
The pneumatic principle of the fork actuator is the same as that of the gear rack type, but the output torque curve of the fork actuator is different from that of the gear rack type. The torque output of the gear rack actuator is a constant value, while the output torque of fork actuator is a curve with a large output torque at 0° and 90°.
When the pneumatic actuator is single acting type, the matching solenoid valve uses two-position three-way type. When the actuator is double-acting type , matching solenoid valve will be selected as two-position five-way type.When the valve is required to lose power to keep the previous position, the matching solenoid valve selects the three position five-way type of double-electric control.When the valve is required to lose air to the previous position , the matching solenoid valve selects the three position five-way type of two-gas control.
2.Design and selection
To protect air components ,the gas supply pressure should be matched with the pressure of the pneumatic element when designing and selecting pneumatic actuators.
When selecting the solenoid valve, power supply voltage that end user provided should be paid attention to . If the voltage does not match, solenoid valve can not work normally and will be damaged too. The ambient temperature shall not exceed the allowable operating temperature of the solenoid valve. For quick closing or opening pneumatic actuators,a buffer device should be provided at the end of the actuator.
Pneumatic actuator has low cost, fast opening and closing , little pollution and easy to realize automatic control, and can meet the requirements of different accident states.
