Maybe many kinds of valve body materials can meet the requirements of different working conditions,but the correct and reasonable selection of the valve material, can obtain the valve the most economic service life and the best valve performance.How to select the material of main valve parts ? First of all, the physical properties (temperature, pressure) and chemical properties (PH value and corrosion) of the working medium should be taken into account. At the same time the cleanliness of the medium should also to be considered (there are no solid particles or not ,different phase). The followings are the main valve body materials :
1.Casting iron
Casting iron is suitable for low pressure valves with working temperature between -15 ~ 200°C and nominal pressure no more than PN16.
Applicable medium for water, gas, etc.
2.Ductile iron
Ductile iron is suitable for medium and low pressure valves with working temperature between -30 °C and 350°C and nominal pressure no more than PN40.
Applicable medium for water, sea water, gas, ammonia, etc.
3.Carbon steel ,such as WCB,WCC
WCB and WCC are suitable for medium and high pressure valves with working temperature between -29 °C and 425°C. Nominal pressure can reach up to PN420. Applicable medium for water, natural gas, compressed air, liquefied gas, oil, saturated steam and superheated steam, etc.
4.Low carbon steel ,Such as LCB
LCB is Suitable for low-temperature valves with operating temperature between -46 °C and 345°C,such as liquefied gas,natural gas liquid oxygen ,liquid nitrogen etc .
5.Alloy Steel ,such as WC6,WC9
WC6, WC9 is suitable for working temperature between -29 ~ 593°C of non-corrosive medium of high temperature and high pressure valve.
6.Austenitic stainless steel ,such as SS304, SS316
SS304and SS316 are suitable for the valve of corrosive medium between -196 °C and 816°C.
7.Monel alloy
Monel alloy is mainly used in valves containing hydrofluoric acid medium.
8.Hastelloy alloy
Hastelloy alloy is mainly suitable for dilute sulfuric acid and other strong corrosive medium .
9.Titanium alloy
Titanium alloy is mainly used in valves with various strong corrosive medium.
10.Cast copper alloy
Cast copper alloy is mainly used in the valve of oxygen pipeline and sea water pipeline between the working temperature of -273 ~ 200°C.
